How To Book Clients On Social Media

Social media is a great way to find new clients. You can use it for marketing, networking and even booking appointments - like you would on any other social site. Here are some tips on how to do that: 

- Create an account with all the networks you want to post on as well as set up your privacy settings so only people who follow you will be able to see what's going on in your life.  

- Use hashtags that make sense for your industry or profession when tagging images of yourself at work or out with friends. This makes it easier for people who are looking for professionals in your field and may not know about you yet! #marketinggeek #salesgenius #seoexpert #contentcreator

- Post status updates that invite discussion. Ask open-ended questions to those who are following you and try to have a two-way conversation. Going on and on about your services or promotion, without allowing for a dialogue won't get you clients though.

- Share links to other people in your field who have interesting things to say. Often social media users will follow someone they admire but may not know they exist on Twitter or Instagram, so make sure you are doing that! 

- Start a Dialogue. Avoid simply promoting your products or services (unless of course, it relates directly).

- Use Twitter lists so when someone interacts with you, like an @ mention or reply, they automatically get added as a follower. This makes it look like you have more followers than you actually do, and people are often more apt to follow someone who seems 'popular'.

- Use Instagram Video to share little snippets about yourself that give a real taste of your personality - prospective clients want to know if they will get along with you!  (And while you're at it, don't forget to get an Instagram Profile Pic and make sure your feed is awesome)

- Don't just post images of yourself.  Post images that relate to the content you are sharing, i.e a picture of how one of your services works for example, or a post-it note with something inspiring on it.

- Don't overload your account with 'selfie' images. Anyone who is interested in following you will probably want to know what other things you are doing besides posting about yourself! 

BONUS TIP:  If you have a personal blog or website, post the social media links there and make sure your site's username matches your username on the social sites.

- Follow people in your industry, but also outside of it to find out what is trending.  You never know when you might discover a new client!  Sometimes you'll even get answers back from celebrities or companies that are just as excited to connect with you as you are to connect with them!

- Following people also gives you the opportunity to share their content with your audience, which is one of the best ways to get noticed and gain followers in return.
